Rise and shine, we woke up on the train to the Spanish/German
lady giving us breakfast. I had,
probably, the best chocolate chip muffin that I have ever put in my mouth. There was this other thing with breakfast
that I didn’t touch after seeing Brady gag after trying it; it was some kind of
meat patty in a wrapper. I saw it as
German spam, so I decided not to try it.
We arrived here in Munich at 7.10 AM and it was raining. Before we had the chance to walk through the
rain, we were stopped by two guys, who I thought, were street sellers/merchants
who wanted some money. I was at the atm
when they came up to the group so when I was done I started walking away from
them and one flagged me down. They were
undercover German police. We were taken
into a police interrogation room and all of our bags, all 16 bags, were searched
thoroughly. Apparently they are
‘required’ to sit there all day and check at least 2-3 groups coming from
Amsterdam each day. I guess it makes
sense, just wish it wasn’t us that had to get searched, it took about an
hour. What was thought to be a five
minute walk turned into a core soaking 45 minute walk. We finally got to the
Leonardo Hotel at around 9.30 and had the rest of the day until 5.30 off until
we had to meet up with the group. Today
I caught on up all of my blogs for the last 5 days and tried to consolidate
some pictures from the weekend. When I
say caught up on my blogs I mean I have them all typed up but I don’t have
internet to upload them. I finished that
and Joel and I decided to do laundry, seeing as we had no more clean clothes. We started the washing machine at about 4.00
thinking that an hour and a half would be plenty of time to get it done. It turns out the washing machine takes an
hour and the dryer took an hour, and they still were not dry. Needless to say we got left by the group and
they went to the best brewery in Munich… without us. It’s ok though we would get another chance
later in the week. We finished up with
laundry and went and met them at the Haufbrau House (which is the brewery) and
walked around town a little bit. I came
back and hopped in the hotel sauna, it was the first one I have seen over here
and it felt great. I called it a night
after that and hit the sack.
