Today we met up in the hotel lobby at 8.00 and we walked
about thirty minutes to the Prague Castle.
It was cool to see a different type of architecture than what we have
been seeing. We walked around the castle
and into its various surrounding buildings that were once used by Czech
Royalty. We were finished with the tour
at about 11.30 and pretty much everyone went back to the hotel to get ready to
leave. I went to my room, packed my
stuff up, got some quick lunch, and got on the internet… you never know when
you will have it again over here. We had
to leave the hotel at 2.00 to catch a 6.10 flight out of Prague. We got a taxi bus and did the whole airport
routine. We made it on the plane and
landed in Amsterdam at 7.40. Amsterdam
is an incredible city, the buildings are beautiful, and it is like a mix of
Vienna and Venice. There were buildings
that looked like those in Vienna and there were a series of canals like those
in Venice. We took a train from the airport
to Amsterdam Central and walked to the Bulldog Hostel in Amsterdam City, right
in the middle of everything. We decided
on the Bulldog because it is the cheapest thing anywhere near town. It is the biggest hostel in Amsterdam and it
was pretty cheap. This was going to be
my first hostel experience… not sure what to expect. The rooms had ten beds to them each. The only other person from our group with me
was Joel. The beds weren’t too bad;
there were two showers, two toilets, and a pillow, so all is well. After all this we met back up and explored
the town. We checked out some of the red
light district and walked around checking out the nightlife. It is definitely a different world over here. Amsterdam is a beautiful place; it is too bad
considering the reputation that it now has.
