Today we met downstairs at 8.15 and took the subway to a
different train station than the one we arrived at. We caught a 9.33 AM train to Prague. Before we left I had some of the best
pastries I have ever had. I had a
schokodonut, which is a chocolate donut, and an italiena which I really don’t
know what it was. We got on the train
that we were told was going to be terrible, it was probably nicer than any
other train we have been on. The ride
was about 5 hours and we arrived in Prague at about three o clock. Joel and I walked around looking for a UPS
store, we were going to ship some stuff back to lighten our bags… until we saw
the prices. Joel got another phone
because he went through two already from talking to his girlfriend. We were about to head back to the hotel when
the sky opened up. It started pouring
and it did so for about twenty minutes.
We chanced it for a while but when Joel almost got swept away by a gutter
river; we decided to wait it out a little bit.
We finally made it back to the hotel and we dried off and met the group
downstairs at 6.00 PM. It had stopped
raining by this point and we all walked down to a huge road by the museum. This road reminded me of Las Rambas in
Barcelona. It had one lane on each side
of a huge pedestrian walkway. We walked
to the end of the walkway and proceeded to walk to the Charles Bridge. Apparently during the day there are street
vendors all over the place but we were there at night. We saw old and new town from the bridge and
we could also see the Prague Castle from Charles Bridge. We walked through Jew Town and found an old
Jewish cemetery. This is the most
crowded cemetery I have ever seen, it looked like tombstones were piled on top
of one another. We were then released
and we walked around and found a pretty busy bar. We went in for a drink and called it a night
shortly afterwards. That’s all for today
and sorry my pictures are a little slack; I have been using my phone as my
camera so I have to get used to carrying the camera around now.
