Today was another long day.
We met outside at 8.00 and caught a bus that picked us up at the hotel
and it took us to another bus, a hub for tourist buses to meet. We went on an Evan Evans tour that consisted
of going to Bath, Salisbury, and Stonehenge.
The first place we went to was Bath, which is a city to the Northwest of
London, about three hours away. It is
the location of the Roman Baths established in England. The baths were an amazing site, they were
HUGE. I’m sure that back in the times
when they were used, they were probably really nice. Now they are disgusting, I wouldn’t touch the
water with a ten foot pole. After Bath
we went to Salisbury and visited the Salisbury Cathedral. This cathedral was amazing, it was
enormous. The city of Salisbury was a
little town and in the middle of it was the gigantic cathedral… you have to
look at my pictures to understand what I mean.
After Salisbury we drove about an hour more to Stonehenge. It was great to see but it is not as big as
one would imagine. Granted that in circa
3000 B.C. it would have been near impossible to conceive such a structure, but
it is not as daunting as it is portrayed in the states. We made the drive back and just hung out that
night. This was the first night that we
have not been out so the good sleep was welcome. Post again tomorrow.
