May 17, 2012

Today we met downstairs at 8.00 and actually left at 8.05... and we did leave a couple of people.  We started the day off by taking a walk through Guele Park, which is in the hills surrounding Barcelona.  In the park we were able to catch a few very stunning views of the city.  Also while in the park, we were able to witness more of Gaudi's architectural achievements.  After the park we went to the Picasso Museum, it was really interesting.  It described all of Picasso's works and how he perceived the world that led to his artist creations.  There was no photography allowed in the museum, so no pictures for this part of the day.  After the museum we came back to the hotel and met for awhile, and then we were released for a few hours.  Morgan, Kyle, Alex, and I went to a small hole in the wall restaurant off of las Rambas.  It was a pizza and empanada cafe, I had a slice of kiwi and ham pizza and a empanada de carne... some kind of meat empanada which was actually really good.  We took the rest of the afternoon off and met back downstairs at the hotel at 8.30.  We went to the National Art Museum which was on a hillside on the outskirts of Barcelona.  We didn't actually go into the museum but we did walk around the area and it was beautiful.  There were monuments and a huge fountain in the front of the museum.  My camera died on the way there so I don't have any pictures for the blog today... but whoever is reading this can look at Kendall's or KK's blog, they take good pictures.  After walking around for awhile we were released for the day and everyone went back to the hotel to get ready for the night.  Tonight we went to a place called CityWalk, which is a bar/club.  It was a really fun time.  Like I posted earlier, the people here in Barcelona do not go out until about three in the morning... so it was a late night.  And guess what, we get to wake up at 7 tomorrow morning.
