Today we slept in until about 9.30. We caught a 11.20 train to Pisa, the rest of
the group who was staying in Rapallo was also on this train, pure
coincidence. We all rode together to
Pisa, Kyle and I had discussed seeing the leaning tower while we were there and
no one else wanted to go (I don’t know why).
We had to stop in Pisa to switch trains to Florence anyways, so we took
an hour break, caught a bus and went and checked out the leaning tower of Pisa,
I figured I might not ever get to see it again.
Of course we took several stereotypical pictures holding up the
tower. It was really cool to see how
quickly it started to lean, and how quickly it stopped throughout the
years. We took the bus back to the train
station and caught a bus to Florence. We
got to Florence and met up with the other guys, we hadn’t booked a hotel for
tonight so we were just winging it.
Luckily, eventually, we got a room at the same place, Hotel Boston. We met up with Brady, Dave, Sumner, Jack, and
Joel later on. Dave stayed with Kyle and
I and the others got a room at another hotel.
We all showered and got ready for the night. Dave, Joel, Sumner, Brady, Jack, Kyle, and I
went to eat at a place someone had recommended to Joel. The place was called Osteria and it was
really good. I had a pasta with cheese
and bacon in it. We went to ‘The Lions
Den’ which is an Irish/American bar… pretty much only American’s in there. Apparently they take American money but I
didn’t see any of that. We walked around
a little more and came back to the hotel and called it a night.
